We currently have a position available for an experienced workshop/mobile fitter within our branch in Tullibody.

Overall Job Purpose:

 

As a Fitter your role will be responsible for servicing and maintaining both customer equipment and  a variety of plant and tools within our fleet.  You will be responsible for ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional customer service, and will be responsible for ensuring the workshop runs efficiently at all times.

 

You may also perform these duties at customers’ sites and as such an element of driving is part of the role.

 

 

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Providing excellent customer services at all times, ensuring all customer enquiries are handled in a professional manner
  • To diagnose faults and repair/maintain/service a variety of plant and small tools including diesel, petrol and electrical within our hire fleet and customers own equipment.
  • Adhering to maintenance program
  • Organising and prioritising repairs, servicing and inspections daily using appropriate system
  • Attend customer sites when required to perform any necessary repairs
  • Stock control of spare parts and re-ordering using appropriate system
  • Carry out PAT Testing on all electrical tools
  • Clean equipment and ensure that plant is stored in an orderly fashion
  • Check and tag all equipment and update service records
  • Completion of all test certificates and associated paperwork
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of products
  • Keep workshop and vehicle (where provided) organised, clean and tidy ensuring  all workshop tools are maintained, inspected and replaced where needed
  • Driving duties, including towing, as and when required
  • Loading and unloading delivery and customers vehicles
  • Handling telephone calls and e-mail queries
  • Supplying qoutes for customer repairs and processing jobs upon completion.
  • Adhere to Alloa Hire Centre Health & Safety rules and Compliance with all regulatory and Company policies
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by Line Manager

 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills including call-handling and complaint management
  • Hire industry Knowledge with appropriate knowledge and experience of plant including accessories, safety test & run/repair requirements
  • In depth knowledge of plant associated accessories and safety equipment/information
  • Ability to demonstrate a firm understanding of the company’s product and service proposition to capitalize on sales opportunities
  • Well organised and efficient with the ability to work well under pressure, demonstrate sound planning and prioritization skills
  • Self motivated with high energy with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge of company and regulatory procedures with the ability to obtain specialist guidance as appropriate
  • Flexible approach to work requirements
  • Sound work ethic, taking pride in the work delivered ensuring excellence is demonstrated in everything you do
  • Clean driving licence
  • Knowledge of the local area

 

Experience

  • A relevant mechanical/electrical qualification (CITB/NVQ qualification is preferable)
  • A working knowledge of plant and tool equipment
  • PAT testing certificate (preferred but not essential)
  • Experience in a similar industry or environment
  • Valid UK Driving Licence with B+E category plus driver CPC
  • Tachograph/Driver Card (preferred but not essential)
